Kate here…

Actually this post is dedicated to MY Cavegirl Mum who has embraced a Paleo lifestyle since visiting me in the beginning of July and has never looked back since. The last time I checked in with her, which was almost 2 weeks ago she’d lost over 8lbs in weight and lost 3+ inches off her waist and numerous inches off elsewhere too. I am so very proud of her and I am planning a post in the future with the full story of Cavegirl Sue in the UK. What is doubly great is that now I can start telling you about great finds and paleo news in and from the UK too. I’m hoping that once Sue is more in the Paleo groove she could be a contributor to Northwest Cavegirls herself representing and sharing her experiences living a paleo lifestyle in England.

So… I spotted a facebook post she wrote raving about a great dairy free Paleo friendly ice-cream that she bought from her local Tesco supermarket and of course I jumped all over it.

Hot off the press – 20th May – Bessant & Drury featured in the Mail on Sunday as top coconut product , described as ‘creamy and delicious’

Our product is a coconut milk based frozen dessert sweetened with apple and uses only natural ingredients. It is the only coconut milk based frozen desert in the UK. Coconut is one of the healthiest foods with amazing health benefits.

Bessant and Drury’s is different because other dairy free desserts use soya or rice milk which do not give the creaminess associated with traditional ice cream that coconut milk delivers, nor the huge health benefits associated with the coconut super food.

Bessant & Drury’s Fine Ice Creams are dairy-free, vegan, GMO free, cholesterol free, additive and colouring free.

Keep up the great work Cavegirl Sue and keep sharing your Paleo finds and experiences with us. The more I share Paleo the more I realize that it’s already ‘so out there’ around the world. AND more encouraging is that there are more people out there ‘wanting’ to know AND that’s why we’re here :)

Until next time…
Bye for now, Kate

  1. Super. That looks like a yummy product. And yay for you Cavegirl Sue! So happy for you. Do they have a good selection of clubs in the UK? :P

  2. Hey, that looks great, the whole Paleo thing does not have quite so much traction in the UK at the moment, posts like this should help though. I will drop a link to this on our UK paleo blog over at http://www.primod.co.uk – try to get that Paleo message out to the uk folks! :)

    • Thanks Marcus! Just checked out your blog and it’s great! Left you a comment too :) Love the fact that you are in the UK especially as my mum is new to Paleo and needs all the resources she can get. Do you have a list of places where you buy your ingredients in the UK? Amazon.co.uk seems to be the best source for her so far I think. I’ll be sure to keep following Primod. Good luck :)

  3. Sinse I have been struggling to lose weight for several years .I was very skeptical when Kate said I should try the paleo lifestyle. BUT I decided to give it a go . So the perfect time was while I was in America staying with My Aiken Family. It would make Kate’s Job a lot easier, If I ate the same as they did. So my Paleo diet began.I have to say, I ate like a horse and I could not believe I could possibly lose weight , when I was eating so much.I was weighed at the start of the month and at the end and much to my surprise. I HAD lost weight. Not a lot , but the food I had eaten. was more than Treble what I ate at home.So on returning home I cleared my kitchen of all Non- Paleo products and restocked with all Paleo. That took me a while, because no one had heard of paleo. So I had to source a lot of the products on line.
SO NOW I am living the Paleo lifestyle. I have lost over 8lbs and several inch’s.and I’m enjoying the challenge.. I am not the best at bloging so over to You Kate to keep everyone up to date on my journey. She is much better at that than I am. Love you Kate.
OH !! .I have made Tuesday my weigh in day.

    • You are such a motivation for others mam. You have embraced Paleo fully and in turn are now reaping the rewards. It will be interesting where your Paleo journey will take you weight wise and health wise. I am going to take a leaf out of your book and clear my cupboards and pantry of any left over non-paleo food. My youngest and less motivated cave kids are inspired by their gran and want to try harder to life a clean paleo life. That would be great and make my life a lot easier thats for sure ;) Keep up the great work and I love you xxx
